I did it all for the Snooki! Are you Psyche-d?

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I get to dress up like something completely random (usually pop-culture related) and no one can judge me for it. Well, I guess I can be judged, but that is a moot point.

On Friday night, I went to a party dressed as Snooki. My hair definitely was not high enough (I used a Bumpit knockoff), and I was definitely not orange enough.

Luckily, the orange part can be helped with a little bit of photoshopping. Hahaha. Way too much tanner.

I met some cool people on Friday, like the Queen and King of Hearts (before she offed with someone’s head).

Bud Light Golden Wheat?! (Not gonna lie,  I thought it was Summer Wheat and had to Google it to make sure.)

Luigi and a Greek Goddess. Yeah, that’s right, the Greek Goddess is totally a character in SuperMario and Luigi shows up in a lot of Greek mythology.

You know you work in Lighting when…two enginerds show up wearing lighting related costume. Here are Lite-Brite and Tony Stark with a really awesome ‘stache. Yeah, you totally can’t tell it’s falling off :)

We took this picture mainly to show how much my slippers matched Cinderella’s dress. Cinde-Snooki?!

215_2227

Hey, 6 mo pregnant Snooki!

215_2224

The parts of my Edison class that showed up. Snooki (who angrily wanted smoosh smoosh or something), Rick Vaughn (not Rick James, bitch!) and Luigi (who was daydreaming, apparently, because his eyes are not open in this pic).

On Saturday, I decided to dress up as a character from my favorite myth: Psyche from Cupid and Psyche. Amazingly, this outfit almost exactly correlated to a painting at the Cleveland Museum of Art whose name escapes me at this moment. Can you see the resemblance?

So the colors are slightly opposite, but at least the zombie-ing isn’t.

Apparently I did some My Little Slutty Pony coloring. This reminds me of the Lady Gaga concert, where she sees her twister and asks if it’s a slutty unicorn.

Cedar Point and a Lovely Song

I went to Cedar Point yesterday (with a friend from Seattle who flew in specifically for Cedar Point!) for HalloWeekends. (Wooo spoooky!) We rode a bunch of rides and walked through a bunch of haunted houses unscaredly.

Apparently, there was a car that fell off Gemini and some guy named Brian had been standing over it (decomposing) for years.

The Mean Streak was closed. That stunk.

215_2181

I got an awesome shot of one of the Wicked Twister trains going up the spiral. Roller coasters are such a feat of engineering. It always amazes me.

215_2186

And now, in honor of a no-loss Saturday (so we had a bye week!), here is The Victors, playground percussionist style.

Things that I did today instead of homework:
1. Learned to play the violin beginning parts of Alejandro and Telephone
2. Attempted to learn to play the violin beginning of Sweet Talkin' Woman because we love violin on top of guitar (but subsequently realized I am not very good)
3. Made lentil soup AND egg drop soup for dinner guests that I did not invite
4. Decorated my fridge with zebra stripes (coming soon to a blogpost near you!)
It's a good thing it's not due until Thursday!

Happy Anniversary!

In honor of working with the General for a year, I threw an anniversary party for my Edison Class.

The morning after, I found two of these in my sink. I thought everyone stopped shotgunning once they turned 21. Just kidding. I have shotgunned a beer exactly 0 times. Gross.

215_2160

I found this on my coffee table. I think someone was trying to do paper napkin heat transfer and the argument got “heated” hahaha. This is what happens when you invite engineers to a party.

215_2159

My favorite picture of my Edison class is this one that was taken at the Class of 2010’s graduation dinner. We all look really !good (not that you can tell from this picture-in-picture). But the brown frame was totally clashing with the black border…

215_2164

I fixed it! I used gray paint, mod podge, and aluminium foil to fix it. I like this technique. It only took me a viewing of The Ugly Truth to do this. I can’t believe I watched that movie. Twice.

Happy World Lighting Appreciation Day!

Procrastination Decor

I have a heat transfer homework due on Tuesday, so of course I’m refining some decor elements of my apartment instead.

The wall above my toilet was so empty, so I glued a branch that I found outside my apartment to the piece of wood that I stained earlier. It looks so nice! It totally makes my bathroom feel more like an outhouse.

215_2129

The rack that I stained recently (but failed to post before/after pictures on the blog) is now hanging on my wall! The last time I was in India (Jan. ‘09), I received a very large amount of thread from my cousin who owns a clothing shop. I don’t think I’ll ever have to buy thread again. Also, I don’t know how I ended up with 4 spools of Maize :)

215_2130

The top of my microwave was begging for something more. I placed a piece of wood on it, as well as three vases, some cork, a candle, and my recipe book. So romantic. I wouldn’t mind a candlelit dinner soon.

Back to homework :(
