Fameglasses

Congrats to Grishma on winning (via random number generator) the completely useless fame glasses!  You best take a picture of you wearing them! Also, it works best if someone takes a picture of you rather than you trying to take a picture of yourself; it took me like 20 tries before I took a good picture of my self because I couldn’t see where I was pointing my camera :(

Fame, Fame, baby, The Fame, Fame

I love Lady Gaga, as you may already know. She is so fantastic to listen to and look at. (I just ended that sentence in a preposition; deal with it.) I LOVE HER. Sometimes I slink around my apartment pretending I’m her coming out of the water in the beginning of Pokerface. Did I just say that out loud?

Anyway. I coveted the glasses that she wore on the cover of The Fame, and I decided that I wanted them. Note 1: I wear glasses so I can’t really wear sunglasses. Note 2: You can’t see out of these glasses anyway so it doesn’t really matter.

I started out with a really scratched up pair of safety glasses that I had and painted the inside with black paint.

For the jewel part of it, I used these sequins (which, interestingly enough, used for my Lady GaBra).

I cut them up into quarters.

I then baked them for approximately 1 minute at 350F in my toaster oven.

I sanded down the safety glasses (not so safe now, are you!) at the part where I would place the tacky glue.

And smeared a thick layer of tacky glue on the glasses.

I placed the baked sequins on the glasses. So awesome.

Fame fame baby the fame fame.

I spent entirely far too much time doing that.

Business Card Tricks

Recently (ok, like a year ago) we received new business cards at work due to a minor change in our company name. So I had 500 business cards with minorly obsolete information on them. I had thought for a while that I wanted to do some sort of art project with them, but inspiration didn’t hit me until Tuesday, when I was at home with a fever.

I used my awesome $3.99 Kids Art Set that I’ve had since I was much more than a kid, maybe even a teenager, to create these tiny art pieces. I used the crayons for simple drawing, and then painted with watercolor on top of it. They’re all hanging in my cubicle right now.
